I am a very cynical person and it is the number one thing I would like to change about myself. I have felt bad countless times after criticizing something and later learning the person I was with really enjoyed that thing.

The fact that you recognize this shows you’re already halfway there.

Cynicism has its place, so you don’t get scammed and taken for a fool, but it can also go too far.
