I’m highly critical of China, but one of my biggest concerns in the whole discourse is that both China and US seem to be completely mis-assessing the other’s relative strengths and weaknesses. Which raises the likelihood for the kind of conflict that is both ugly and stupid and where the objectives are entirely meaningless.
