A quick progress update on my new node!
I’ve now got PostgreSQL installed with replication working between the two NUCs. Eclair is also installed with a basic configuration running in a Docker container. It starts up without errors using the Postgres backend. So far all is looking good.
Next I need to get my networking sorted out. There is a slight issue with my plan for failover between the two Internet connections where it won’t failover as quickly as I would like in some situations so I need to reconsider what to do. Once that is sorted out I’ll transfer some Bitcoin and open channels.
There is definitely a much bigger learning curve building a node this way than simply using Umbrel or StartOS but it gives a lot more flexibility and understanding exactly how everything is put together is useful.
