Religion is indoctrination... Following Jesus is an individual pursuing their conscience in light of scripture. Perhaps there's a case for indoctrination happening along the way when people pursue Jesus in a community. But there's nothing wrong with a community having standards for full participation. As individuals, we should carefully inspect the fruits of the doctrines of our community.
