TiL that the Serge Gainsbourg/Jane Birkin song "Je t'aime... moi non plus" was so controversial that the Vatican allegedly excommunicated the record executive who released it in Italy. Birkin said this led to Gainsbourg calling the Pope "our greatest PR man".
