In the legacy world, I feel like everyone is fighting for their turf on otherwise-captured platforms that are inevitably co-opted by government.
I don't get that same feeling on #nostr.
Instead, it feels like entirely new territory to try new things without permission.

Yes, however the dialup BBS model and generally the internet in the 90s also had that vibe, it dried up
The vibe lasts while there's an "elite" element to making the connection, despite the "difficulty" or the "outsider-Ness" of it
