Yeah, I had that experience before. So the time you joined before was probably around when Jack started to talk about nostr. A lot of people joined them but it didn’t turn into a habit for them (including me). You need to follow currently active people. Also since Nostr doesn’t have an algorithm it only shows you notes once. In twitter you get shown the same content multiple times as well as content the people you follow like etc.

As nostr:npub1gw3zhc5r5a7jfgl6yx8qv0nc9kset5ddkrka229c3tym5xltehlq58m7mm said follow people who are active and curate your feed around those people. Curate your feed to around 50-100 people (or more if you can handle it) of currently active posters on #nostr. Use hobby/topical hashtags to find these users who post often and follow those that you can relate too.
I can assure you #nostr is still very active and alive. Communities are steadily growing that aren't just #Bitcoin related as more people see the potential with the protocol, it's up to you to find them and the people who post in them. Curating your feed with active posters or semi-active posters takes time, but once you build your feed it's a great experience and you will have a different opinion compared to now.
Hope this helps!
