My life was wonderful before #Nostr & I’ll probably leave here again. Same as always. I come online a bit … then ghost … been doing it since the 80’s.

There is a **lot** of corruption in #btc and I’ve been offered all manner of things.

Mainly goes back to trading my glorious self for #BTC … men ( and sometimes even their wives or girlfriends 👯‍♀️) support this.

Don’t get me wrong, I can handle being flirted with. I’m talking about drunk, and or drugged people being malicious evil humans. That’s never gonna fly with me. Ever.

I’ll spare you further details. But I’ll say this: now I understand why some “influencers” are constantly carrying their own drinks everywhere …. SHADY, dirty, criminal behavior by some people. Fax 📠

Get it. And it's sad, really. Been hearing stories, and it seems you don't have to be an influencer to get your drink spiked these days. Shit society. Luckily I'm blessed with anxiety so I would never attend a party lol.

About BTC, I see it like this: the more I stack, the less fascist idiots can have. One of the beauties of fixed supply. So my credo Ina nutshell: if you don't want bitcoin to be taken over by shitheads, get it before they can 😄

Fascists have taken enough from us, I won't surrender this tool to them without a fight because I think it's an important one. But that's just my two sats

People shouldn’t be mentally abused repeatedly to show their allegiance to something. Online or off but I’m mainly speaking about #IRL

#Nostr is a game. Some get offers made & accept immediately. I’ve warned these people before what they did to me better never happen again to another human.

Cause WOOF 🐶 if I **EVER** see some of these idiots again, it could go bad … quickly.

From my experience, nostr is the least "game" of any social media I have experienced.

Not sure what you mean with offers, I think I never got any here lol.

If I compare this place to e.g. Instagram it is like a quiet pond Vs a maelstrom 😂

But maybe I just ain't popular enough to attract big fish 😄🙏🏼

Me neither. Nostr is probably my biggest account so far (and I have no clue why)

Disclaimer: I maybe have tried every social network under the sun in the last decade, excluding recent ones though because #nostr is what I want (anybody remember diaspora or tent.is 😅)

When reading your history, I think you started too late 😅 unless you skipped parts.

I think my first place was MySpace, and back then you had a lot of customisation options (I wrote a lot of HTML and CSS for my myspace page) and zero algorithms, as far as I remember.

Your feed was just a chronological soup if posts from the people you followed (or, "were friends with" as it was called)

Then mark suckalot entered the game and took it over, and it all went straight downhill from there.

Suddenly, "engagement" was the ruler of your feed.

And then, this metric was monetized.

This move didn't only fuck up social media, it killed society as we knew it.

People were starting to rage bait to farm "interest" and money.

Then crypto came along to amplify scam artists 1000x

And we ended up with things like Hawk Tuah coin.

To me, #nostr is the antidote to all of this.

We reclaim chronological feeds.

We reclaim the absence of "sponsored posts"

We measure engagement in a decentralised, ungovernable currency.

This is why I am clinging to this network - and I think it has a chance to grow with everyone who is just burned out with how things are elsewhere.

Anyway this is way too long already and i'm forgetting where I started 😅

Yes 🙌 Remember the MySpace days as well.

Ima just different than many in my generation. Saw the scam of Facebook early & was posting content like: YOU ARE THE PRODUCT years ago then realized it was wasted energy. Many didn’t care.

Same as with what happened at Twitter. When everyone was leaving for Blue Sky & other places:

me: you’re willingly allowing yourself to be transferred into more cyber train cars for more brain washing

All perfectly timed & my most portent messages blocked out ( shadow banned ) so it benefited others. Think political candidates etc. this infuriated me.

Totally! I also thought like this but before nostr I didn't see a real alternative tbh.

It was all just migrating to the next lesser evil.

This is why I'm so thankful for this place. The user has choice once again. And the whole development feels like reliving the early internet days again 🥹

Hopefully. 🤞 goal is to rebuild the internet better but convincing others of what has been taken is harsh truth. How to convey it.

I don't trust any public figure hah, but yes so far Jack and the other one called mallers are the ones who didn't disappoint me yet.

That picture makes me wanna cry tbh. That last genuine smile thing .. I know but "only" because of depression and no military trauma.

Call me a hippie but I don't get why humans constantly need to slaughter each other.

Institutionalized religion is a scam. Resources? We all share this same space ship called earth.

I do not understand why this species can't get their shit together. Really boggles my mind.

Humans always human. We’re flawed AF. While I dislike many of the things I did in the military industrial complex it gave me various experience and a love of humanity I hadn’t known before. Mainly: how we are one humanity.

Depression is something that comes for many & we each must find our own way to heal. Genuinely, sorry you have it. Hugs 🫂

Feel you. Being the same I think. At least my work calendar and the end of the year every time hits like this. But also constantly feel like going insane the whole year. I need to change ways I guess.

Rarely do new years resolutions but this year I have one. I want to do more art or music and level myself more.

Try to read even less news, even though I am already quite effective and rarely know what's going on 😄 I want to make this zero haha

Yeah, I hope so. Either this or serious damage I think.

I don't have a concrete plan yet, but I acquired some gear to make music over the last decade without ever really using it. I want to change that.

About drawing, I am even less sure. I love pixel art and would like to get more skilled there. Even made an online drawing app..

But I'm afraid I lf I try to use it I will find lots of bugs and then be back coding again 😂
