Yeah. I've read how that the Dulles brothers who worked for Wall Street and eventually became the Secretary of State and head of the CIA in the '50s and '60s tapped Eisenhower to run for president, and then he pretty much did their bidding.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. He was a war time general after all. And from my understanding, his exit speech was something that wasn't expected so seems like he may have gotten involved with something he didnt fully understand and had a fit of conscience

Indeed. The CIA was carrying out assassinations abroad left and right under his administration. Then, when they did it on U.S. soil to JFK even former president Truman, who approved the creation of the CIA in 1947, realized they had created a monster.
