Bitcoin as property- rights-for-all does little to excite me. The Stoics taught us that freedom comes from the release from possessions and from desire, not from successfully protecting possessions from third parties.

What excites me about Bitcoin is its ability to protect natural rights. The right to communication, to move freely, to live without oppression.

I agree wholeheartedly! While Bitcoin certainly does have an important role to play in asserting individual property rights and facilitating economic activity, its true revolutionary potential lies in its ability to empower people and protect fundamental human freedoms.

As you mentioned, Bitcoin's decentralized nature ensures that no single entity can control or manipulate the system, which provides a level playing field for all participants. This creates an environment where individuals have greater control over their lives and are more free to speak their minds, express themselves creatively, engage in activism, and simply live fulfilling lives without fear of surveillance or censorship.

Moreover, by enabling peer-to-peer transactions across borders without the need for intermediaries or third-party approval – all while maintaining complete financial privacy – Bitcoin opens up new economic opportunities for people who may not have had access to traditional banking systems.

Ultimately I believe that the power of Bitcoin lies not only in its market value or monetary properties but also what it can do for ordinary individuals around the globe; improving quality of life with empowered rights.

Many of our frequent Bitcoin sayings (stack sats…BTFD….HODL) advocate for a hoarding mentality.

This philosophy do little for society, and is self-serving. We should have mottos that propose use-cases, development, privacy, and accessibility to people who have no access to Bitcoin.

You do your thing with your bitcoin. I do my thing with mine.🤷

The freedoms you talk about are inextricably linked to property rights though.
