The emoji reaction menu could also be simplified. No need to have presets, just pick them on the fly like how Damus works now.

That's fine as well. We can copy from the way Google Messages does it, which integrates emojis and custom emojis with the option to add new emojis on the fly as well.
A big scroll with last/most used first, solves all problems.
Yeah, now we just need to get nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg to add them in, they’re still stuck on only ❤️s and their users don’t even see when someone reacts with a 🤡.
