Just as developers reuse code and get help from chatgpt, designers reference other designs for UI and UX ideas. Sometimes that’s not necessary and it’s easy to know what something should look like, but often we look at other designs.

And, I think it's a part of Jakob's law where you want to have design patterns that are present on other sites because that's what users are going to be familiar with.
Yep. It’s the reason everything mostly looks the same. It’s not that designers are out of ideas 😂
