Donations are far from sustainable. Most are just passion projects and some devs and designers are on grants from nostr:npub10pensatlcfwktnvjjw2dtem38n6rvw8g6fv73h84cuacxn4c28eqyfn34f

Well that's what I mean. We (users) get a lot of incredible stuff for free atm. Surely devs will need to eat at some point?
