This TikTok madness and spectacle of an inauguration beg the age-old question - why would anyone be pro more government?

Are we not mortified yet?

you’re asking a very good question.

i sometimes look at my family and wonder if they ever ask themselves questions in regards to the integrity (not sure if that’s the right word to use 😅) of the politics and the politicians they vote for

In my view integrity is the perfect word to use because there is none of it in politics. I used to be a liberal sheep (literally) I had no idea why I was liberal except for the moral argument that all “good” people are, and I “philosophically” agreed with leftist views. It’s taken time to gain awareness of how much the media and censorship played a role in this conditioning. We are so far past being able to trust the people in power with our livelihood it’s insane, it’s sad that so few recognize that but I’m holding out hope for a paradigm shift.

i totally agree with you. i myself as a non-U.S citizen, truly had similar way of thinking of politics. by being influenced by family, friends, and your surroundings has a massive impact on how we think, behave and trust people. on the other hand i see people in many countries losing their trust in politicians and the media, which in my view often serve as a way to deeply entrench «manipulation».

like you, i hope for a paradigm shift, where people push for more honesty, transparency, and accountable leadership, thought this won’t happen easily.

psychology plays a big part in how this shift is going to happen. it all starts with the mind 🧠
