Speaking of this, I still don't know what alternative to recommend to new Bitcoiners. Speed, maybe? If they're a Nostrich, then Primal seems like an easy recommendation because it comes with a wallet now.

Yeah, for newbies in the US I would definitely recommend speed or primal wallet, just stay away from ZBD no matter what.

Primal if you’re in a place where Strike serves. You can also just use Strike with any Nostr client, but not in NY, of course.

LN.tips still works most of the time, but it’s really just for small amounts. I’ve given out a few Alby invite codes to people in person recently.

Stacker.news is another easy way to get an address.

LN.tips is my current go-to for onboarding because it’s easy to pair with Zeus.

Is it easy, yes, but I don't like telling someone you have to use a messenger app and a bot to set it up and then you have to download a second app. Two apps just to make a bitcoin transaction? That's not a simple sell.

No, it isn’t. But it shows them the interoperability and that Nostr is an ecosystem, not an app.
