This is so much bullshit.
A. 99% of PornHub content is perfectly legal.
B. Only a tiny % of Pornhub content is even morally questionable.
C. PornHub is a huge profitable business. They are VERY motivated to get rid of any and all questionable content immediately.
D. Access to websites cannot be blocked. China has tried. I know people who travel to China for work. They describe the simple methods to take to access anything.
E. The British, EU, or US gov'ts could force banks to stop PornHub payments, of course, that would force porn sites off shore or underground, where it would immediately become total law of the jungle, making the situation MUCH WORSE for everyone involved.
F. McNamara is a self-described abolitionist. She wants to abolish the entire porn industry. That will, of course, never happen. How many thousands of years have they been trying to wipe out prostitution, for example? So, why bother? Oh, she's grifting.
Should we put pressure on PornHub to enforce strict ethical standards? Of course. We should do that with ALL web sites. Do we as a society need to learn how to deal with erotic materials being transmitted digitally? Of course. Just like any other technology.
Safe, legal, regulated porn, alcohol, weed, prostitution is the way to go. Blanket prohibitions of all these things have been tried and have always failed causing far more harm than the vice they were meant to stamp out. Let's not do that anymore.
