We were all excited for Elon to take over Twitter because we believed he would ensure free speech for us in the “town square”. This was definitely cause for hope considering his stance as a “free speech maxi”. Why wouldn’t we want a free speech maxi in charge?

However we still had to rely on one man, a single point of failure, to ensure this. There will always be a single point of failure in a centralized system. This is the way they are engineered.

So we went to a decentralized system. We don’t have to trust in anyone to fight for us, we can simply refuse to fight at all. We can have the same “town square” that cannot be taken away by the whims of the individual.

What is true for nostr is true for bitcoin and will be true for any decentralized service that offers the same or better value as one would find in a centralized system.

This is the future and the future will be built on Bitcoin principles. Bitcoin is much more than the sats in your wallet.

Just some thoughts on my brain tonight. Hope you are all doing well out there in nostr land.
