I see people talking about electricity being free to access with the right knowledge and no or trivial new equipment feels like flat earth talk to me.

Had anyone reproducibly harnessed this energy?

Free. Not that I know of. These ideas take time to produce. There are systems installed that are generating electricity from magnetic generators. After the install and equipment is paid off it’s as close to free that I know of.
