1. Salt-Peter doesn’t work as pedophiles just find something else to use.

2. Many aren’t believed within their own families. I’ve seen some sad legal documents proving this fact. Example: inheritance money left to grandchild from grandparent who had molested grandchild explaining why grandchild chose to leave the family.
