1. PROJECT SUMMARY

We seek support to start a 5,000-bird poultry farm as a long-term self-reliance project for the orphanage.

This project will:

•Provide a daily source of nutritious eggs for children.

•Create stable income to support food, healthcare, school fees, clothing, and shelter.

•Reduce our long-term reliance on donors.

•Serve as a long-lasting investment that will benefit future generations of orphans.

This is a proven, sustainable path to financial independence.

2. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1.Establish a scalable poultry farm to generate continuous income.

2.Improve nutrition for children through steady egg supply.

3.Sustain the orphanage’s monthly budget without constant fundraising.

4.Create a sustainable project model that can expand to 10,000 birds in the future.

4. EXPECTED BENEFITS & INCOME

Egg Production

5,000 layers can produce:

•4,500 eggs per day (average)

•Equals 150 trays per day

Daily Income

150 trays × 10,000 UGX = 1,500,000 UGX/day

Monthly Income

30 days × 1,500,000 UGX = 45,000,000 UGX/month

This income can cover:

•Food for all children

•School fees

•Medical care

•Clothing and bedding

•Rent/maintenance

•Emergency needs

The monthly egg income is enough to sustain nearly the entire orphanage budget.

5. LONG-TERM IMPACT (2 YEARS OF LAYING)

Over 24 months, egg sales will:

•Produce stable income every single day

•Cover all orphanage needs

•Allow savings for emergencies

•Create extra funds for expansion (to 10,000 birds, or larger farming projects)

This project becomes a multi-year source of hope and stability.
