Was there actually a time when Rasberry Pis were cheap and available?

Smatphone SoCs are relatively more powerful and energy-efficient. And have been for years. Just not standardized.
I remember waiting for a few months when I ordered my first Raspberry in 2012, I think it was delayed a bit because they were waiting for the CE certificate 🤔 But they were cheap 👌
