Is anyone currently using phoenix wallet https://phoenix.acinq.co? I’ve heard it’s non-custodial so it’s safe. But does it support zaps? Is it good for NOSTR?

it is very good for mainnet + LN in mobile- thats it - dnot use for zap in nostr - if jack zap u 1million move it to phoenix -simple

Okay, so i guess i’ll need 2 wallets 😅

3+ may - never keep all egg in one basket - all LN node scheduled downtimes - when u cannot spend during that interval channels locked

But if phoenix is non custodial, it shouldn’t be able to put hands on my btc, right?

yes - but in LN funds are always time locked in channels - no matter who has seed

Sorry to bother you with questions, but so even if i have the seed phrase, the wallet can time lock the funds and i won’t be able to access the funds? So only running my own node will I be 100% safe?

even ur node - if channels are down - funds will remain locked for long time get released - data shows 80% LN funds big channels runs in datacenters - nothing wrong about it - speed n fast connection is essential to get faster zaps one application

https://primal.net/thread/note1tzjp2lhggx72pftqzushtywzss4vv66zrq3fxgm54r48ae90p2aqz5rgzh - when researching i found although the "number of LN nodes" are very decentralized in self custody - big fund channels operators for biz n flow have to be to be located in datacenters for obvious speed / loadbalance / efficiency reason
