Auto-saving drafts is weird. It quickly becomes a list of all the bad posts you decided to not post. The draft is a reply only you can see. You can rant as much as you want on it. Maybe looking at this mirror of ourselves is how we evolve social media.

Next Amethyst version might be polarizing again.

It’s not new to write an angry letter, throw away that first draft, and start again. Repeat until satisfied.

An option to save as draft would be nice, but auto-saving is unnecessary.

Yes.

Draft support is absolutely necessary, it greatly improves the UX, first of all when the user needs to explore nostr before resuming writing. But it is also a lifesaver if an app crashes.

So auto-saving is necessary, but I would let the user opt-out, for example when he leaves the editor (just the first time, for every draft).

Practically all my messaging apps have drafts. Nothing new here.

It sounds useful if this is on-device only and I can turn it off in the settings. Otherwise, I'll want to avoid the update.

Why on-device only? Currently they are encrypted messages to yourself. They are stored on the relays so that you can continue working on the draft in any other client.

Yea, that's exactly why I want on-device only. Drafts should go away if I uninstall the app. I don't want to take them anywhere. Encryption will break someday and I would rather not have every one of my stupid thoughts out there.

Its not a deal breaker. I'll keep drafting in my notes app 🤷‍♂️

Yes! Polarize harder!

Great feature!
