Does anyone have any recommendation for HEPA air filter models for the home?

My Winix one is aging and now makes an annoying noise that drives me crazy.

Looking at Medify MA-40 or potentially a Coway AirMega.

Looking for something relatively #BIFL and which has good long term filter replacement costs.

The prices of the expensive ones are definitely kinda crazy, but good health is worth paying for.

i have this probreeze thing right now, doesn't seem amazing but adequate

having these things indoors is a great thing for improving the lifespan of computers - less dust clog, means less dusting in general, and decreases the burden on the lungs and upper breathing tubes for discarding garbage, which obviously mostly has to happen by digesting and eliminating - and god knows what gases come off shit, the plastics, the paints...

one of these days i will build my own ioniser/earthed trap rig... most of the bad particles can be eliminated simply by passing air past a negative ion generator and then from there past an earthed surface, gentle movement is fine, you wouldn't believe how fast those earthed panels get black

HEPA filters are great but ioniser/earth panels are probably a lot more long term durable, you are handy with electronics, ion emitters are just needles with a very high voltage current fed up to them (most of it just goes back into the grid and/or lost with resistance)

been meaning to get some earthing sheets too, earth the whole damn shebang...

electrons are everything
