Unpopular opinion:

I don't think you get to build the reference client, whose brand is quickly becoming synonymous with "Nostr", and still act personally aggrieved when someone criticizes your design, financing, or marketing decisions.

Would you rather we never spoke of your product or paid you any attention, as is the case with 99.99% of Nostr devs? Or are you expecting lots of attention, but only acclaim?

Everyone wants to be powerful, wealthy and influential, but not like that, tho.

I added "unpopular opinion", just to trigger everyone.

You are literally shaking. 🫨

Was just about to comment.. "Agree with all except is an unpopular opinion.." 😂 you got me! 😂😅🫂

I think when you launch a major update and your client all of a sudden is the clear leader in UX and UI, the knives are gonna come out from the other devs and their supporters. When that happens, you respond with class and dignity and call out petty potshots, like we just saw. 🙂

He is welcome to explain _why_ he abandoned NIP-01's basic structure and went with a more centralized, brittle alternative. This was a choice. Why did he choose it? What are the _technical_ advantages that he is convinced repair some weakness in the protocol?

If this is so incredibly popular and the users all love it, should we all do the same? Is this part of the previous push to discard relays entirely? Is this the anti-outbox model?

At any rate, we all know that it's difficult for other kind 01 clients to compete with the marketing of a client that Odell's own venture capital fund has a direct line to, but we also know that life isn't fair.

if he leads, he bleeds.
