Well, you can't block people from replying to your posts or tagging you in posts for the entire Nostrverse to see. That has certain consequences.
If you scam people on Nostr, you're going to get called out on Nostr and labeled a scammer.
On the other hand, if you're doing honest business, people will say so as well.
For selling physical goods, the burden of trust is on the buyer to trust the seller. The buyer can send sats instantly, but has to wait for the seller to ship them their item.
Sellers won't get very far on Nostr by scamming people. Your reputation on here is permanent.
Valid point. But we're still early.
Will it be also valid for 100x larger community where there will be millions active users daily?
There will be much easier for bad players to hide in the crowd.
How can you tell that some seller is trustworthy before you send him sats ('make an order').
You would have to verify, digg his profile, find previous succesfull transactions, notes with reviews etc.
Same stuff which could be simplified to some score in points like on other e-commerce platform.
For years the darkweb marketplaces have been using vendor scores to solve this trust issue.
On Nostr, maybe we could do it with badges. You get your stuff, you want to leave a review, you do it as a badge to the vendor. Vendors that have collected a lot of these can be considered trustworthy.
Trust scores are a barrier for new vendors. It's hard to establish yourself. But I think the benefits outweigh the downside.
