Damus push notifications work a bit different than other implementations.

Since we run a popular relay and most damus users use the damus relay, we take advantage of that fact to deliver notifications in realtime.

When a note hits the relay, you will be notified immediately, so it should be faster and more realtime than other implementations.

This also means that if you have some private relay setup and don’t use the damus relay, then push notifications won’t work, but you can always switch to local notifications (the current behaviour)
