Get a pixel phone, travel with it as clean factory reset, nothimg on it, no sim, no saved data....

Learn his to install / run grapheneOS, carry the CLI tools and your backups / contacts on an encrypted drive.

Reccomend tailsOS image, or similar linux usb install with persistent storage, encrypted.

Factory reaet phone again if needed once in country.

Install grapheneOS and restore backup once you are in country from the encrypted drive. Use a VPN always.

Bring your own sim

Factory reset before leaving country, reinstall stock android.
