Runs pretty hot too. It'll do the job no problem tho
Great for $20. 3Ah battery doesn't last all day though. In contrast, the 5Ah on my t-deck lasts about 5 days.
For my solar nodes I use RAK because it's pure solar + battery power.
I'd absolutely use a Heltec v3 for something like a gateway to a computer network though. It's a strong contender for any use case where it can be powered by an outlet.
