Something that's been on my mind for a little while:
Women who pursue interests, occupations, and roles that some consider masculine are often accused by detractors of "wanting to be men."
This is a straw man.Β All most of these women really want is to not be held back from being themselves.Β And if women are interested in and capable of doing masculine things, how exclusively masculine are those things, really?Β (And why does it matter?)
People who are prescriptive with gendered behavior often claim that their way is natural.Β If it's so natural, why are they so triggered when people ignore it?
They punish authenticity in the name of authenticity, which is just wild to me.
