Why so salty? How are they open to prosecution exactly? I inscribed a piece of digital art I bought back in the early inscription days. It was fun, I paid the #bitcoin transaction fee and now I hold the corresponding UTXO when viewed through the lens of Ordinals.

You should be thanking ordinals for increasing the security budget, driving innovation to bitcoin and giving lightning a kick up the arse in that it's not ready for global adoption as high fees practically borked LN wallets. They just couldn't cope in the high fee environment.

Think of the inscription craze as a drill that bitcoin woefully failed on. People are sleeping on small UTXOs, mempools will likely NEVER clear again and hopefully in time Inscriptions will be priced out of the game as we learn to live in a sustained high fee environment.
