My friend asked “who pays for Nostr” and it perplexed me. We zap each other, and Jack has funded a few devs but what about the infrastructure? Who pays for all the free public relays?

If no one does then how do they keep the lights on? What do they monetize?

True.

I used to have one. It turned into a subscription and when I lost my paid relay I felt no change at all. I hope they’re able to make money
