relays could authenticate the zap in theory... getting a bit into custom code territory but maybe worth it?

But zaps are events right? Would the authenticatation just be looking at the zap’s p tag and ensuring it’s a paid user?

It would look at the pubkey and see if it matches the nostrPubkey on the target pubkeys lnaddress. Expensive op and would need caching tho

Off topic- is there a way to sign a nostr pubkey to prove you hold priv? What about multi sig? Same attributes as bitcoin?

Why is this a concern? If a spammer wants to pay to spam the relay is rewarded and the spammers kills themself over time.

It’s about zap providers that need to post to relays here.
