The first thing i can do at least is make sure when @ing someone in damus it goes to the relays in *their* profile. Not sure why we’re not doing this yet. nostr:note1nnwdclnnv6d9pwyc73asm5e7u4y0x5glxze00jrawx5xw6mjvq7qa864vd

75% of the time when I'm @ing someone in Amethyst, I have to go to nostr.band, search for their profile, copy their npub, then go back into Amethyst and paste it.
yes profile discovery sucks when @ing … damus could be better at this as well.
It's coming. Local Database is 60% there. Then all Metadata will always be local.
Like literally all npubs stored on one server to make querying faster and more reliable? You're doing that? How are you THIS fast, are you 5 people?
I met Vitor in Miami. I can confirm he's at least 3 very intelligent small kids in a trench coat.
We need petnames for nostr: https://spritely.institute/static/papers/petnames.html
We have them, its literally in the name of the second nip 😆
Couldn’t there be something equivalent to dns protocols that will fetch npub from username by storing such metadata in relays?
nip05 maps email-like identifiers to npubs, but
1. Getting a nip05 isn't always obvious
2. People are not used to @ mentioning via nip05s, but maybe that should be more explicit in mentions?
3. nip05 has similar discoverability problems, and not all nip05s have embedded relay listings.
