To be honest I still try to wrap my head around how they work..need few more pieces to click in for me like self custodial wallet for example.

you are not the only one, i dont have a clue. it would be great if they made it plug and play within umbrel, right now i save my notes with it. I see peeps talk about relays and a few asking to test theirs or what it cost to use theirs but im not satisfied with that. im happy i cant be deplatformed/demonetized but the relay ensure that as far as i can see. however my frens list is most important as a content creator and it varies from client to client which is fraustrating 🤷🏾♂️
