I literally goto places with free internet to download dozens of Steam games to my Steam Deck, then bring it home and transfer them peer to peer on a local router.

internet charged by the line capacity is pretty much the norm in a lot of europe now... was normal in bulgaria 12 years ago... was so awesome watching the techs drill a hole through the wall and literally put a plug on the end and i just plugged that into my eee pc... and i could see the cable ran across the road to a box on a power line

location is quite important... if you are too far from the trunk lines you are gonna pay too much
