I'm all for keeping things weird on Nostr, but is there any other way to decide the winner? Or maybe a discount if we buy a Bitaxe?

The way to decide the winner like this, puts me and nostr:nprofile1qqstjvzf5m39g73k5a5jmy8yh25qjqf9yct4234pwvm52n00n2mf6vqpramhxue69uhkummnw3ezuetfde6kuer6wasku7nfvuh8xurpvdjszyrhwvaz7tm4d438yetv8g6rsdpcqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskueqj605lsin a disadvantage cause we answered first..

I don't mind if i lose, but looking at the answers, there's already so little chance me and stacksats will win..

its true. for complete fairness we should have sent our guesses via dm

Feel free to dm nostr:nprofile1qqsxcttghgqkc2g5zl7336nuq6mn0mq58a74d4u0m4z2tvjgs3jjtmqpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t09uqsuamnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dshssqu69u with new guesses if you feel that's more fair. The second and third place will get a special discount code from me.

Thanks man!

Let us just decide for ourselves? We just pick the meme you find best except for the one you made yourself? It's rather difficult to settle this in a fair way. nostr:nprofile1qqstjvzf5m39g73k5a5jmy8yh25qjqf9yct4234pwvm52n00n2mf6vqpramhxue69uhkummnw3ezuetfde6kuer6wasku7nfvuh8xurpvdjszyrhwvaz7tm4d438yetv8g6rsdpcqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskueqj605lsi'd rather have fellow memers decide, instead of just pure luck

These three memes are all winners, letting luck decide makes sense as it's also pure luck if you find a block when mining, which is what all of this essentially is about imo.

I respect the way you both feel about it but I am still struggling with how having the guesses public & transparent puts you in a disadvantage. The blockhash is 100% random and being the first / the last to guess doesn't change anything about the winning odds. Having said that, I will consider the guesses submitted via DM.

To make this clear, there is absolutely zero disadvantage for whoever guessed first, even if it's public.

The blockhash the guess would have been compared to is 100% random and doing it in public allows every participant to verify that he's the winner.

Not sure where you think that there's a disadvantage in doing it this way. Bug now we need to settle on another block, obviously.
