You can easily make an argument that covering US politics would be a decent choice because quite literally the entire world sees it, talks about it, cares about it, hates it, loves it, etc...i travel around the world and people read about Trump, Biden, Congress, theilitary, whatever. Although that space is packed.

Virtually nobody outside of the UK cares about a small time parliament member or party. It's just math.
