With just an antenna upgrade and at roof height just a mile, mile and a half. I think if I go 5ft above roof peak or put one at 30ft on a nearby pine tree on my property I should get 2-3 miles. Most of the homes I would put repeaters on are 1-2 miles apart. Also been toying with the idea of putting a collapsible mast in my car or truck so that when I'm out and about I can extend the mast to help with range. I think with the roof repeaters and the personal mobile devices people have on them around town, I should be able to cover my needs.
