I've been noticing a lot more long form articles being posted to nostr since primal added support them. although I've also noticed most of the articles have broken markdown

A lot of the articles have random image links in the middle of the content that are getting converted to images

This works for clients that linkify and auto-detect URLs but its technically invalid markdown and makes the articles display incorrectly in noStrudel and primal

I presume most users are using either nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q, nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x, or Habla.news to write the articles so I would like to ask those clients to consider updating their editors to help users correctly add images to markdown

I think the issue is that the editor automatically converts .png and .jpg links into images, which makes the user think they have embed an image even though it won't show as an image in other apps

and same on highlighter

and habla.news

for extension links we will auto-complete the syntax however for non-extension media we will warn the user about it. Thanks for the resources 🙏

Thanks for the heads-up nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr! I have updated the node with correct syntax for images.

I wouldn't blame Habla for this one. When you click on their image icon in the editor it gives the proper syntax of "![]()" for adding an image, though it doesn't indicate what goes in the brackets vs the parentheses. I am just too used to Nostr clients automatically loading image URLs as images.

Can you share with us the article in which the markdown is broken?
