I think most of us here on Nostr share a certain dislike for taxes.
Why? Because we know that most of the money we pay ends up in the pockets of corrupt and dishonest politicians.
This happens because fiat money allows it — it’s not fully transparent, it’s not 100% traceable.
But just imagine:
what if you could pay your taxes in Bitcoin,
and know exactly where every single satoshi of your money goes —
would you be more willing to pay?

I agree with you, but how do you think basic public services like roads, street lighting, etc., should be paid for?
Directly to the company that runs those businesses. How it works today? There's a company running those services, you pay the state and the state pays them, just cut the state off and everything becomes cheaper and voluntary.
