You are sure of this?

at the very least they would consume Vit C from raw organs

Oh you clearly already knew this

Kinda curious how the captains of ships (who got the meat rations) never seemed to get scurvy

They absolutely did get scurvy. It was Captain Cook that proved that scurvy was preventable by forcing his crew to eat sauerkraut which had a high vitamin c content. Only eating meat, caused scurvy which is a vitamin c deficiency.

I’ve been looking for primary source documents showing cases of captains or chief mates dying from scurvy but I’ve been unable to find any thus far.

Plenty of cases where the crew did as discussed in the book you shared the review of, but that doesn’t disprove the hypothesis. I’m welcome to conflicting information if you are able to find reports I haven’t discovered yet

If the captain has died of scurvy, the crew were already dead. Who is going to write in the Captain's log, if the captain is dead?

You've presented zero evidence of your hypothesis. There's over five thousand years of history about scurvy. It's causes and prevention are well understood.

Without any scientific evidence and data, you're litterly just making shit up. You're not a qualified biologists and you've done zero research. Eating meat alone will cause a vitamin c deficiency and scurvy. That's a scientific fact. And will remain so you until someone, anyone presents data that refutes that.

If you can point me to any scientific research or evidence, real historical evidence, I'd love to read it. Because if you go and actually read some shit yourself, well, start with Cook's journals. His research into scurvy was ground breaking and led to the great age of discovery.

Why would the captain die last if it was a nutrient deficiency equally distributed? 🤔

You don’t know anything about me and can’t assess if I’m not a «qualified» biologist (what even is that? lol)

I invited refuting evidence

Yes but organ meats are chalk full of vitamin c
