The only thing we are truly sovereign over is our mind. If it is the mind that gets offended, then the fault for getting offended is always the offended person.

Nowadays, there's the idea going around that "hate speech" dangerous because they can eventually reach some crazy guy who will get indoctrinated and start shooting minorities. I've actually had this explained to me, 100% seriously, and I took the time to understand it from them. They've turned getting offended into a moral obligation to save lives.
