I THOUGHT THIS WAS PRETTY NEAT.

THIS IS A CICADA NYMPH EXOSKELETON ON THE RIGHT AND THEN A CICADA THAT COMES OUT OF THE BACK ON THE LEFT. USUALLY THE CICADA CLIMBS INTO THE TREE TOPS TO START MAKING NOISE BUT COULDN’T ON THIS PIECE OF GRASS. IT JUST HATCHED SO ONCE IT GETS STRONGER IT WILL FLY SOMEWHERE HIGH UP. GOTTA LOVE #NATURE

Here's one I caught molting a couple weeks ago.

Very cool! Nice timing. I’ve only ever caught 1 in the act my whole life.

Is that a scotch pine tree? The bark reminds me of one.

Definitely pine, not sure what kind. Likely longleaf though as I'm in Louisiana.

Got it 🫡

Fuck cicadas tho

lol 😂

They are noisy but I’m so used to them it doesn’t bother me anymore. They used to keep me up at night when I was tent camping, but doesn’t seem to keep me awake anymore. Thankfully

I dont mind the noise, i just remember 2011 when there were so many that when we were detailing cars they kept flying inside the cars and flying animals like that is my only phobia

Oh man. I can see where that would definitely be a bother.

Smash that bastard before he can fly! They're such a nuisance!

I tend not to hear them they coexist simultaneously on the same frequency as my tinnitus in my head. You got to love nature and brain. Lol ✨️

Oh for sure. That’s super interesting 🤔
