China has confirmed a high-level economic meeting with the United States set for Wednesday, following a request from Washington. Vice Premier He Lifeng will meet with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in Switzerland from May 9 to 12. Beijing reiterated its strong opposition to American tariffs ahead of the talks.
