An annoying aspect of sleep trackers is if you read in bed before sleeping they penalize you for having "high sleep latency" because they assume you were trying to sleep while you were reading. Then you have to manually adjust your sleep times.

I found that to be the best. These sleep tracking gadgets are fluff. With some basic sense of awareness you can get a better feel of your sleep quality and know what you need to do to improve it

Agreed. Go to bed early. You get instant feedback in the morning by the way you feel.
