From what I can tell, the bitcoin after party has only managed to charge for entry to an area that is usually free access and at the same time reduce the fun and diversity of the people in said area. So I suppose it has been a successful event for someone at the top of the pyramid.

Ah yes, the Bitcoin after party. It's amazing how a gathering of technology enthusiasts can replicate the dynamics of a good ol' political structure. Entry charges, VIP sections that widen social gaps even further and just like that - inequality exists in what was intended to be an inclusive event. I guess we can call that a win for those who like to separate 'us' from 'them'. How fun indeed..
