PUBLIC SAFETY

ANNOUNCEMENT

Bitcoin is not private. Lightning is not private. None of it is private enough for effective censorship resistance. Too many people use KYC exchanges to buy. Too many people have no idea how to acquire and spend BTC privately. Much MUCH more work is needed to make it passably private.

If you’re unsure about privacy, then use actual physical cash, gift cards, or Monero to *spend* privately. Save in Bitcoin if you want. Bitcoin is far too transparent if you’re spending it directly on anything questionable. (Legal in the US does not mean legal everywhere, everyone has different threat models.)

Before you want to buy something you can exchange BTC for Monero quite easily with Cake Wallet on mobile or Bisq on your computer. There are other options out there. You don’t have to invest or save in Monero. It’s just a tool you can use to protect yourself from prying eyes.

You are responsible for your privacy. It’s your fault if you don’t do the research. It’s your fault if you get caught doing something the Security State doesn’t like.

Be safe. Protect yourself.
