I’m beginning to develop a theory that the amount of conversation on a platform about the platform itself is kinda indicative of where it is in its lifespan.
When it’s new (Nostr) people talk about the possibilities, new tools, fixes, etc. This is the age of fanboys and evangelists.
During mid-life most people just use the platform (ActivityPub might be in this phase). This is the age of content.
During a platform’s crone phase people discuss why the platform is dying (Twitter, Facebook), what should’ve been done differently, and complain about the platform, on the platform. This is the age of decaying behavior and crumbling reliability.
Anyways. Random thoughts.
Wait, what? I just got here and I'm already in stage three; I can't stand that I'm unable to post videos larger than 5mb!

I think we’re phase 1. Video hosting is hard. I’ve used Streamable. I also run a PeerTube instance, but those vids don’t integrate well with clients.
