I seems like half of the people are reviewing the Elden Ring DLC (well, more like an expansion from the looks of it), Shadow of the Erdtree, negatively because its so hard that it isn't fun.

I asked my friend, who's playing through it at the moment, and they mentioned "nah? it seems fine".

I'm downloading the game to check myself, but if I had to take a guess, players are trying to play the game solo without help from an NPC summon, and perhaps being under level as well where they don't want to grind a bit, with their ego preventing them from having a fun time, is why they're not enjoying it. So basically, it's potentially another case of "skill-issue".
